Today is our last day of work! We had dinner at The Narrows to celebrate.
We're actually going to be a little sorry to leave here, although we won't necessarily miss working on the weekends. We've enjoyed the area and seeing lots of different birds and other animals. We're going to miss our California Quail which we've watched grow up from little balls of fluff to almost-adult birds. For the past couple of weeks, we've had Blue Heron roosting in a couple of dead trees near us, and today there were two Great Egrets in the same tree!
And this afternoon, we had a bat come visit us! S/he was in between
the open window and the screen in one of the back windows. As it got dark, s/he inched ever closer to leaving until s/he finally flew away.
