We spent two days at Turner Flat Campground along the banks of the St. Joe River about 9 miles east of Avery (stopped in Avery on our way through for huckleberry ice cream...yum!). 

 

Earl didn't have any luck fishing (this section of river requires the use of artificial lures...no worms...and barbless hooks), and there were thunderstorms each day, so we decided to come back to drier land.  We may go back later in the summer or fall...we'd like to go all the way to the end of the road.

 

We spent last night at 50,000 Silver $ Casino in Haugan, Montana...free campground with electric hookups.  We're on our way to Missoula to shop at Costco and maybe do laundry.  Then we'll head south on US-93 and back into Idaho.
