On the Road Again (Almost)!

We're in the process of packing up the camper for our planned departure on Tuesday, April 5...have to stay here until then to watch the collegiate championship basketball game between UConn and Butler.  ;-)  It's time to get out of here since it's starting to warm up...it's been in the high 90's for the past couple of days, although it looks like it's going to be a bit cooler today.

Yesterday afternoon, we had a farewell dinner with friends, Mike and Mary, at Silly Al's in Quartzsite (their pizza is tops in our book...we've rarely found pizza elsewhere that comes close to being as good).

This past week, we had our fifth wheel washed and waxed by the same people who did it last year and Mike and Mary came out with their tire pump so Earl could pump all four tires back up to 80 PSI (they were all down to 65 PSI, but we do have four jacks underneath the frame to help hold the weight of the rig just for this eventuality).  While we do have an air pump on the PacBrake, it's slow.  It's great for adding a pound or two, but when you need to add 15 PSI to each of the four tires, we would only be able to pump up about one tire a day without overheating the pump.  Mike's tire pump does the job in about 10 minutes or so!

When we leave here on Tuesday, we'll be heading home for Spokane, but don't plan on being there until around May 1...maybe before or maybe after, depending on the weather and what all we find to do between here and there.  Our plans are to explore some of the Nevada ghost towns, so we'll see how it goes.

Fortunately, both Gracie and Blaze are good riders.  We put their harnesses on, hook them up to the seat belts in the back seat, and they both curl up and go to sleep.  Maxx was always a nervous rider, spending most of the trip awake, standing and pacing, so it's nice to have dogs that aren't bothered by being in a moving vehicle!
