We had someone come by to view the house today -- the first time since we put it up for sale shortly after we returned to Quartzsite in October!

The housing market has been slow, and to top if off, not many people have been in Quartzsite compared with the number that are usually here. But Earl and I have noticed a marked increase in traffic since Christmas, so maybe people were waiting until after the holidays to make the trek south.

Anyway, the people who came to see the house today were looking for some friends of their's who live in Ogden, Utah. The realtor took them around to see several properties and, apparently, they narrowed the choice down to our house and one other. The potential buyers are on their way here...or will be shortly, so they may be here sometime next week, maybe the week after.

Keep your fingers crossed that they decide to make us an offer!

Earl took the truck in this morning to Erik's RV Performance here in Quartzsite to have a PacBrake installed. This was an all day job, so someone at Erik's drove Earl home and picked him up again in the afternoon.

The new PacBrake now also comes with an air tank plus tools for airing up the tires...pretty nifty! It also works much differently than the PacBrake we had in our old 1996 Dodge. I don't know if the product has been improved in the intervening years, or if the fact that the '96 Dodge had a manual transmission makes a difference...perhaps a bit of both.

Carl and Connie drove up from Yuma to take delivery of the Lazy Daze. We spent some time with them showing them all the systems...since they are experienced RVers, this didn't really take a lot of time.

Soon, they were ready to go...it was sad to see our Lazy Daze drive off with new owners, but we're excited to be starting on a new adventure!

We sold our Lazy Daze this morning! A couple (Carl and Connie Jeglum) drove up from Yuma to take a look at it and bought it on the spot. They've given us a down payment and will wire the remaining money to our account. We'll then pay off the loan and have the title sent to us.

Now the wait begins for delivery of our fifth wheel which is scheduled for mid-January, although we don't have a firm date yet.

To update since my last post:

After days of trying to order a Net 10 phone online -- unsuccessfully -- we drove into Blythe and bought one at K-Mart. The Net 10 phone is a pay-as-you go plan and looks to have some decent coverage (per the online map) -- not as extensive, perhaps, as Verizon, but we thought we'd try it out this year as we're traveling and see how it works. If it works in "most" of the places that our Verizon phone works, we may cancel our Verizon service when our contract is up. We'd certainly save a lot of money since we never come close to using up the 400 minutes per month we get with Verizon (their lowest cost plan).

We had a 7-way harness and plug installed in the truck and ordered a tonneau cover for it. We got a Fold-A-Cover which really looks sharp on the truck. We received the cover this week and Earl and I actually installed it ourselves!

We have the Lazy Daze completely cleaned out and will put it down on the corner of Kuehn and Covey next week so that it gets more exposure. We did have someone come by yesterday who really seemed interested in buying it, so maybe that will work out. If not, with more and more people arriving in Quartzsite, hopefully we'll get it sold soon.
