Idaho Delegation Fights Forest Service for Seniors, Disabled. Read the full text of the letter sent to Tom Tidwell, Chief of the USFS and signed by Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch, and Congressmen Mike Simpson and Walt Minnick at this New West website.

Yea, for Idaho! As you know, we spent this past summer traveling in Idaho and found it to be very RV friendly. I'm glad to know that the state's Senators and Congressmen are standing up for us seniors and the disabled in this matter!

On another note, we replaced the toilet in our fifth wheel this past week. It was starting to not hold water...we could get it to hold water if, when we pressed down on the foot pedal, we then let go of it so that the ball "snapped" shut. But, then, the foot pedal was starting to be difficult to press down and we were afraid it would eventually break, so I got online and ordered the same brand and model from Camping World. I found the toilet for a less expensive price elsewhere, but the shipping charges were outrageous, making the final price for the toilet more than at Camping World!

I was really dreading taking the old toilet off because I figured the whole RV would smell of sewer, but...surprisingly, at least to me...that didn't happen, and the replacement process was very simple.

Were you all able to find a porcelain replacement toilet that fit your Excel Classic 30RKE?
Cheers,
Steve & Gari... still looking at Excel

We bought it at Camping World...it was an exact replacement of the toilet that came in our Excel when we bought it (we ordered the Excel and requested an upgrade to the porcelain toilet rather than the plastic that's standard in the Classic).

We noticed that Excel offers the Porcelain toilet only in select models. We were interested in the RT model until we noted several of the unavailable features, the porcelain being one. We've installed and replaced several toilets over the past 10 years and it's surprising how much difference small features can make; such as elongated vs round, and stool height. Seems like porcelain would be in that important category for fulltime use.

Call the factory. We were able to upgrade several things in our Classic that were shown in the brochure as being available only in the Limited, such as the porcelain toilet. By the way, if you are planning on buying new, I *think* 2010 is the last year for the RT...it's being replaced by the Winslow.

Thanks for the extra insight on the Excel lines. That's great news that Peterson has flexibility. That's just a great attribute for all of us to have in this life. We are thinking of doing something similar as you all did, and that's visit the factory, spend some time and increase the odds that we make the right decisions for us. Cheers!
