One thing I forgot to mention in yesterday's post was our trip across the new bridge that bypasses Hoover Dam.

Disappointing.  Oh, sure, it cuts miles off the trip and is much quicker, but the concrete sides are too high to see over, and there's a path for foot traffic making the distance between the right-hand lane and the side of the bridge several feet.  Also, high-profile vehicles like RVs, must travel in the left-hand lane next to the barrier separating on-coming traffic due to possible high winds, so it makes it even more impossible to see over.  There is a spot where you can park on the Nevada side and walk over the bridge, although I'm not sure exactly where that parking spot is...it may be at the Hoover Dam Visitor's Center, which can now be accessed only from the Nevada side.  At any rate, we didn't stop this time to walk over the bridge, but we may at some time in the future.

The wind has died down this morning.  If it remains calm by the time we're finished with all our morning chores, we may decide to leave.  Time will tell.

I remember a time when I thought they'd never finish the dang thing. And you are so right it's just not pretty and you can see anything... It does make for good pictures.

I don't know about the bridge not being pretty. I don't recall any point on the road approaching the bridge from the east side where you could actually see the bridge (other than the roadway). Maybe I just missed it?
